Sacraments and Worship, includes the Office of Liturgy, seeks to take the sacred mysteries handed on by the Church, ensuring that the people of the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee encounter Jesus Christ in worship and are nourished by grace growing in Faith as disciples of the One who gave Himself up for us.
Vital aspects of worship include liturgical music, art, and architecture which help create excellent environments for communing with the Triune God, and by offering guidance in the proper celebration of the sacraments.
- assisting the bishop in his role as principal liturgist of the diocese.
- planning and coordinating diocesan liturgies at which the Bishop presides.
- serving as a resource for parishes, schools, offices, and institutions on liturgical matters.
- serving as a resource for parishes in matters pertaining to celebration and evaluation of parish liturgies, liturgical music, and liturgical spirituality.
- assisting in the review of art and architecture to create suitable environments for worship and spirituality.
- keeping clergy and parishes informed of the latest directives from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and the Holy See.
