The Catholic Foundation of Northwest Florida was established in 2007 to hold endowed funds that will provide resources to advance the mission of the Church in our diocese in perpetuity. With more than $30 million under professional management today, the Foundation annually distributes nearly $1 million in grants to parishes, schools, and ministries throughout our diocese.
Because these assets are held in endowments, we can be confident that funds will continue to support our church for generations to come.
From 2005-2007, the diocese engaged in a comprehensive planning process, Sharing the Vision, to discern the hopes and desires of the faithful of our diocese. One theme ran throughout: We want a more vibrant church.
To bring that goal to life, the Catholic Foundation was established as a separate charitable foundation dedicated to Catholic activity in Northwest Florida. We support parishes, lay apostolates, and diocesan offices by awarding grants to innovative programs and ministries that achieve the goals set forth in the Sharing the Vision process.
The Sharing the Vision – Growing in Faith campaign provided the seed money to establish endowments. The interest and dividends from these endowments generate grant awards, with a portion being reinvested in the principal to grow the impact over time.
The foundation includes these endowments:
Adult & Young Adult Ministry
Campus Ministry
Catholic Charities
Catholic Schools
Ethnic Ministry
Family Life Ministry
Parish and School Campus Capital Needs and Improvements
Religious Formation
Seminarian Education
Youth Ministry
In addition to the original endowments funded by the diocesan-wide campaign, individuals and families have created their own named endowments within the foundation to fund ministries close to their hearts, thus creating a legacy that will live in perpetuity.

GRANT RECIPIENTS
Each year, the Foundation's Grants Committee reviews applications from throughout the diocese, awarding funding to support a wide range of programs and ministries that benefit our parishes and communities. We're honored to share recent recipients and the good works that Foundation proceeds have supported.
The Foundation prioritizes accountability to our donors and faith community at large. Each year, we undergo an external audit that holds us to the highest level of transparency in our financial practices. See recent audited financials below.
